Today Ms. Jansen taught us which sites we should use to find our sources. These included gale, and net trekker. She said to try to avoid the free web.

I started my search on net trekker, it was inconclusive.  No results on net trekker!

I searched oenococcus oeni on gale group to find one result, unlike net trekker, its a start! The result talked about a strain of wine. Apparently, oenococcus oeni is "designed to induce malolactic fermentation in white and rose wines."

"CHR Hansen introduces new malolactic culture." Wines & Vines 81.10 (Oct 2000): 9. General OneFile. Gale. St Andrews Episcopal School - Austin. 5 Dec. 2007

Searched wikipedia today. I am getting desperate =[. Wikipedia also had almost nothing. The only new info is that in 1995 it was renamed oenococcus oeni after being called Leuconostoc oeni.

I found out that strains of Oenococcus oeni are Gram+, facultative anaerobes (normally use oxygen but can also live without it).

I talked with Mrs. Rasmussen and she broadened the category of my project to bacterias that are good for wine and ones that are bad for it. I am having much more success with my research now.

I found a picture on this site: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.dailycal.org/images/art/10.16.scitech.bacteria.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.dailycal.org/article.php%3Fid%3D9810&h=326&w=400&sz=59&hl=en&start=9&um=1&tbnid=zGJcCJjkkpWbGM:&tbnh=101&tbnw=124&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dwine%2Bfermentation%2Bbacteria%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26sa%3DGhttp://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.dailycal.org/images/art/10.16.scitech.bacteria.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.dailycal.org/article.php%3Fid%3D9810&h=326&w=400&sz=59&hl=en&start=9&um=1&tbnid=zGJcCJjkkpWbGM:&tbnh=101&tbnw=124&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dwine%2Bfermentation%2Bbacteria%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26sa%3DG

I put the picture on the front page to add a little spice.

The picture is of oenococcus oeni, a bacteria that is good for the fermentation of wine.

Found a video explaining the process of making wine for the front page.  No videos actually explained the fermentation process but they talk about it.

I also foud a new website for information I am not sure if i will use it yet though.

Here it is: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/12299.php

Today we had another change in the plan.  Austin is doing Oenocccous Oeni, I am doing the Lactobacillus and there may be more new bacteria later. The oenococcus oeni picture may have to be moved from the front page to the oenococcus oeni page because it is the only one we can find.  So I am looking for a new picture.

Today I searched for lactobacillus on google with many results.I decided i needed to be more specific so I searched lactobacillus wine.  I found a great website included in the bibliography section.

I started to gather information from my new website. After I learned some new stuff i searched again to find one new site on lactobacillus in winemaking.

I worked on finding music for the front page. I chose spill the wine by war.   At first the media player was making all the text on the page link to the site where I got it. Finally after tinkering around with it I got it.

Today I typed the info that i learned onto the page and created a crossword puzzle about lactobacillus.
